In 2015, Golden Valley Charter School became a Charter Management Organization (CMO), overseeing two schools. Our new name? Golden Valley Charter Schools for Educational Renewal. We are a nonprofit entity that currently manages two charter schools, Golden Valley River School and Golden Valley Orchard School.
What is a Charter Management Organization?
A Charter Management Organization (CMO) is a nonprofit entity that manages two or more charter schools. The CMO provides back office functions for their schools to take advantage of economies of scale. It is the formal administrative organization of the schools. This group creates the plans and policies of the schools and consists of an Executive Director, Business Manager, Director of Educational Support and an administrative central office staff. They work together to collaboratively achieve our mission, vision, values and goals.
To find out more about the changes at Golden Valley, please join us for a town hall meeting on Wednesday, September 28th from 6pm-7:30pm in the River School multipurose room (MP). Golden Valley Executive Director, Caleb Buckley, will be available to speak about Golden Valley and answer questions. Look forward to our school newsletters for more information about this event.
