Golden Valley News
Over the past eighteen years, Golden Valley students have contributed to making countless numbers of art pieces. One of the most monumental art pieces is the hand carved wooden sign Mrs. Keyser-Petty made with the first graduating K-8 class of Golden Valley. The sign was meticulously created and finished in 2008.
After carving the name of the school and logo in this solid block of wood, the students carefully etched their signature by hand. This piece of art and gift to the school was the last project the first graduating K-8th grade students created together. This sign represents a solid foundation for Golden Valley and a long bond of friendship.
We are excited to announce that November 29th kicks off our exciting new program: “Week of Giving.”
Our Week of Giving kicks off with the nationally celebrated “Giving Tuesday.” This special day is in response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a day to celebrate nonprofit organizations by donating to your favorite causes. During this season of gratitude, it's important to look past consumerism and shed light on all the great charity work that takes place in our communities.
Mrs. Keyser Petty has served the Golden Valley community in many ways: as class parent for her son (now a graduate of Golden Valley), as Golden Valley Educational Foundation (GVEF) president, office sub, and most recently as the Handwork Specialist for 5th thru 8th grade. She learned everything she knows about Handwork from her Mom-mom (grandmother), and she thanks her for instilling a love all things handwork!
